Radical Contact ist ein Versuch, Sensibilität für Verletzlichkeiten, Grenzen und Dominanz sowie gesellschafts-/machtkritische Perspektiven in Tanzräume der Contact Improviation* zu tragen und andererseits Bewusstsein für Körper, Selbstfürsorge und Kontakt in Politräumen/ in linksradikaler Politik zu stärken.
Wir möchten einen Raum eröffnen, wo wir gemeinsam erforschen, was wir jeweils brauchen um gut mit uns selbst und einander in Kontakt zu kommen, zu tanzen, zu diskutieren und einen Raum zu schaffen, der sich (einigermaßen) sicher anfühlt. Es geht um Konsens und Grenzen, Unterschiedlichkeit, Auswirkung von Dominanzerfahrungen, Selbstfürsorge.
Es sind alle herzlich eingeladen, die Lust auf achtsame Auseinandersetzung und körperliches Forschen zu diesen Themen haben, unabhängig davon, ob ihr mit Kontakt/Contact Improvisation, linksradikaler Politik/ Politarbeit, Tanz oder Körperarbeit vertraut seid oder nicht.
Radical Contact als jährliches, internationales Treffen in Schweden gibt es seit 2012. Dieses Jahr entstand die Idee, auch regelmäßig in den unterschiedlichen Städten Begegnungsräume für solche Suchprozesse zu schaffen. Am 6. Dezember wird es Treffen in Göteborg, San Francisco und in Berlin geben. Nähere Infos findet ihr unten (auf englisch).

Der Raum ist Barriere-frei, allerdings muss der Fahrstuhlschlüssel von Pförtner besorgt werden (auch für die Barriere-freien Toiletten). Wir kümmern uns drum, bitte Bescheid sagen!
* Contact Improvisation ist eine Tanzform, in der zwei oder mehr Menschen miteinander improvisieren, Ebenen wechseln, Gewicht geben und nehmen, gemeinsam und für sich einen Tanz finden und dabei meist in Körperkontakt sind.
Radical Contact Worldwide – 6 December 2015
Join dancers and activists around the globe to explore the intersection
of contact improvisation and radical politics. Experience contact
improvisation in a space that’s conscious and critical of societal
norms. Get involved in a project that’s about embodied activism and body
politics.
Content:
• We will use contact improvisation, bodywork and verbal exchanges to
explore how social relations of domination, such as class, race, gender,
dis/ability, sexuality…, become concrete and material in our bodies, our
patterns of movement, our ways of touching and seeing. We will look at
how these relations of domination show up in the way we create our
communities and interact in them.
• We will address body political issues such as gender binarism,
heteronormativity, health, disability, fat, body image, beauty,
objectification…
• We will work on making contact improvisation spaces safer and more
inclusive. We will search for effective ways of verbal and non-verbal
communication and share strategies for becoming more sensitive to each
other’s boundaries and challenges.
• We will create a space for exchanges about our activism. We’ll talk
about self care, sustaining activism and addressing burnout.
We welcome both people familiar with contact improvisation who are
interested in body politics, and political activists who are interested
in movement and bodywork.
This event will be a fundraiser to support refugees and radical activism
against borders (donate what you can if you can).
Who are we?
The Radical Contact network grew out of a number of meetings in Europe
on contact improvisation and body politics. This is our first attempt at
holding events simultaneously in different locations around the world.
The “radical” in the name of the project refers to radical politics –
the long tradition of revolutionary political activism aiming at
fundamental social change. In the long run, we want a society based on
equality, autonomy and reciprocity, liberated from the desire to
dominate, control and exploit.
Locations for this first event: San Francisco, Berlin, Göteborg.
This is just the beginning.
